X-Ray Background Fluctuations
نویسنده
چکیده
Minor Ha activity, consisting of small brightenings and small, surgelike spikes, was observed to take place above an active center at the solar limb in good time-association with small fluctuations in the soft X-ray background flux, suggesting that even small dynamical events seen optically are associated with coronal heating. The ratio of Ha flux to soft X-ray flux in some of the surges was approximately the same as the ratio already established for flares. The total energy dissipated by the events in a 24-hour period is estimated; it is approximately equivalent to that released by one flare of imp 1 per day.

Investigating the effect of voltage fluctuations on the beam quality of X-rays in the range energy of diagnostic radiology
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of voltage ripple produced by X-ray machines on the quality of X-ray rays. For this purpose, the energy spectrum from the X-ray tube manufacturer should be simulated in the range of diagnostic radiography and verified by experimental results. The statistical analysis of the results showed that there is no significant difference between sim...
متن کاملSmall-scale fluctuations in the cosmic x-ray background: A power spectrum approach
Equations to investigate fluctuations in cosmic x-ray background radiation due to pointlike sources at high-redshift are formulated in a systematic way. The angular power spectrum of x-ray background fluctuations is investigated from large scales to small scales in various cosmological models such as open universe models and models with the cosmological constant, assuming a simple evolution mod...
متن کاملMeasuring the Power Spectrum of Density Fluctuations at Intermediate Redshift with X-ray Background Observations
The precision of intensity measurements of the extragalactic X-ray Background (XRB) on an angular scale of about a degree is dominated by spatial fluctuations caused by source confusion noise. X-ray source counts at the flux level responsible for these fluctuations, ∼ 10erg cm s, will soon be accurately measured by new missions and it will then be possible to detect the weaker fluctuations caus...
متن کاملX-ray Sources as Tracers of the Large-scale Structure in the Universe
We review the current status of studies of large-scale structure in the X-ray Universe. After motivating the use X-rays for cosmological purposes, we discuss the various approaches used on different angular scales including X-ray background multipoles, cross-correlations of the X-ray background with galaxy catalogues, clustering of X-ray selected sources and small-scale fluctuations and anisotr...
متن کامل**title** Asp Conference Series, Vol. **volume**, **publication Year** **editors** the Autocorrelation Function of the Soft X-ray Background
The first positive detection of the X-ray background fluctuations at small angular scales is reported. ROSAT PSPC archive pointed observations are used to measure fluctuations at scales of 0. 03−0. 4. The pointings have been selected from an area free from galactic contamination. At separations below ∼ 0. 1 clusters of galaxies become a substantial source of the background fluctuations. The aut...
متن کاملSoft X–ray background fluctuations and large scale structure in the Universe
We have studied the fluctuations of the soft (0.9–2 keV) X–ray background intensity for ∼10 arcmin and ∼2 arcmin beam sizes, using 80 high galactic latitude medium–deep images from the ROSAT position sensitive proportional counter (PSPC). These fluctuations are dominated (and well reproduced) by confusion noise produced by sources unresolved with the beam sizes we used. We find no evidence for ...
